SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant shot 52 percent from the field in the second half but couldn't overcome a cold start, falling to Vermont 62-52, on Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 6-14 overall and 2-4 in league play. Bryant hits the road next Thursday (Jan. 29) to take on Binghamton before beginning a three-game homestand.
Vermont held Bryant to just 3-of-22 shooting in the first half, building a 13-point lead at the break. The Bulldogs would trim the deficit to five with just under three minutes to go but TJ Hurley scored 11 of UVM's final 16 points to hold off the Black and Gold.
Aaron Davis III led Bryant with 15 points, while Timfoei Rudovskii (13),
Keegan Harvey (10) and
Ty Tabales (10) also finished in double figures.

How it Happened
- Both Bryant (1-of-10) and Vermont (4-of-12) got off to slow starts offensively, combining to go 5-of-22 from the field over the first eight minutes.
- Three of the Catamounts' first four baskets were from beyond the arc, giving UVM an 11-4 lead at the under-12 media.
- Vermont's shooting from beyond the arc continued to dominate the game as its fifth three of the half made it an 11-point (10-21) game with 6:59 left.
- Rudovskii would can three free throws to bring the deficit back to single digits but a three-point play from Gus Yalden gave Vermont a 26-15 lead with 4:12 remaining.
- The Catamounts would grab their largest lead of the half (17-30) on a Barnett dunk with under minute ago. Vermont would take that lead to the half.
- Vermont held Bryant to 3-of-22 shooting from the field in the first half. Bryant scored 10 of its 17 points from the line.
