BINGHAMTON USES LATE RUN TO STUN BULLDOGS IN VESTAL

VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton scored the final 10 points to erase a seven-point deficit and hand the Bryant men's basketball team a 63-60 loss on Thursday night at Dr. Bai Lee Court in Vestal.
 
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 6-15 overall and 2-5 in league play. Bryant welcomes New Hampshire to the Chace Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
 
Bryant trailed by as many as 10 in the first half but led by seven with 2:58 to go but the Bulldogs went scoreless the rest of the way as the Bearcats rallied to hand Bryant a gut-wrenching loss. Jeremiah Quigley finished twice at the rim and then set up Zyier Beverly's game-winning dunk with 11 seconds left.
 
Keegan Harvey led Bryant with a career-high 28 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. He was 3-of-4 from three and 7-of-7 from the line. Ashley Sims II and Aaron Davis III each finished with 11 for the Bulldogs.

  • Binghamton closed the game on a 10-0 run, erasing Bryant's seven-point advantage with 2:58 remaining.
How it Happened
  • Binghamton got the early jump, hitting each of its first three from deep to take a 9-4 lead.
  • Bryant would battle back to tie the game at 10-10 but went over eight minutes without a field goal. The Bearcats went on an 11-1 run to build their largest lead of the half.
  • The Black and Gold started to chip away as Harvey drilled a three from the top and Ty Tabales turned the corner to finish at the rim, forcing a Binghamton timeout with 6:06 left.
  • Binghamton would maintain a seven-point edge for the next five minutes before three free throws from Timofei Rudovskii made it a four-point game.
  • Trailing by five with under a minute to go, Davis tipped away an inbounds pass and then finished through contact with his left hand for an old fashioned three-point play.
  • Bryant trailed 30-28 at the break thanks to Davis' basket.
  • Sims tied the game quickly at the beginning of the second half with an eight-footer.
  • Binghamton, however, was able to build its lead back to six (34-40) with 15:18 to play.

  • Harvey would can two free throws to make it 45-42 but the Bearcats answered with a three on the next possession to tie the game.
  • It would start a 5-0 run for Binghamton to make it 45-47 but the Bearcats missed a pair of free throws to make it a four-point game.
  • Bryant took advantage as Harvey set a new career high in points with a pair of free throws before Tabales found Sims downlow for a two-handed slam (49-47) with 7:57 left.
  • After Binghamton tied the game, Davis and Harvey hit consecutive threes to help Bryant open up its biggest lead of the game. Davis swished an open look from the corner, while Harvey knocked down a triple from right in front of his own bench.
  • Rudovskii then hit his first field goal of the night, a three that bounced high up off the rim before falling home, to make it a seven-point game with under three minutes to play.
  • The Bearcats scored the next 10 points, however, to win the game 63-60. Beverley slammed it home to give Binghamton the lead with 10 seconds left.
  • Bryant then missed on a transition three and Quigley clinched the game with two free throws.
