WOMEN'S LACROSSE PICKED SECOND IN COACHES POLL; FOUR BULLDOGS EARN PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

BOSTON – The Bryant University women's lacrosse program has been picked second in the annual America East Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced Wednesday. The conference also named Emily DeGeorge, Riley O'Mara, Kaelynn O'Brien and Jessica Tosone to the Preseason All-Conference Team.

UAlbany claimed the top spot in the poll, receiving five of the seven possible first-place votes. Bryant finished second with the remaining two first-place votes. UMass Lowell, Vermont, UMBC, Binghamton and New Hampshire rounded out the poll.

Bryant concluded the 2025 season with an 11-7 overall record and a 5-1 mark in America East play. In just its third year in the conference, the Bulldogs claimed their first-ever share of the America East Regular Season title and earned the No. 1 seed in the America East Playoffs.

After an impressive comeback victory over No. 4 seed UMBC in the conference semifinals, the top-seeded Bulldogs advanced to their first America East Championship appearance in program history and their first conference championship game since 2022. Bryant finished as the runner-up to No. 3 seed UAlbany in the 2025 America East Championship.

DeGeorge led the Bulldogs in scoring and earned Second Team All-America East honors in 2025 despite missing the final three games of the season. She recorded a team-high 42 goals to go along with seven assists. DeGeorge posted a career-high seven goals in Bryant's win at LIU on Feb. 19. In her final outing of the season, she tallied seven points (5g, 2a) to power the Bulldogs to a 16-14 victory over Vermont on Apr 19. DeGeorge also finished with seven free-position goals, eight ground balls and nine caused turnovers.

O'Mara earned Second Team All-America East honors after totaling 33 goals and five assists on the offensive end. She added 18 ground balls, caused 14 turnovers and converted eight free-position goals. O'Mara recorded six hat tricks during the 2025 season, including a five-point performance (3g, 2a) in Bryant's win over UMBC.

O'Brien made national attention while anchoring the Bulldogs' defense in 2025. The junior finished sixth in the nation in caused turnovers with 52 across 18 games. She recorded at least one caused turnover in all but two contests and posted multiple caused turnovers in 15 games, including a three-game stretch averaging five per contest against Dartmouth, Rhode Island and Holy Cross. O'Brien also secured 61 draw controls, collected 40 ground balls, and added seven points (3g, 4a) offensively.

Tosone garnered similar national recognition on the defensive end. She finished the season ranked 17th nationally in ground balls, scooping 55 in 18 games. Tosone ranked second on the team in caused turnovers with 45 and added 52 draw controls. She also scored two goals on offense.

Bryant will open the 2026 season against Sacred Heart on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Beirne Stadium. Opening draw is set for 12:00 p.m.
