STORRS, Conn. – The No. 14 Bryant University men's soccer team scored three goals in the first 35 minutes and went on to earn its second ranked win of the season, 4-1 against No. 22 Connecticut on Tuesday night.

The longest active winning streak in NCAA men's soccer continues off the backs of team defense, and braces from Mamadi Jiana and Fermin Rodriguez.

The Bulldogs earned their eighth-straight win of the season improving their record to a firm 8-0-1. This win for the Bulldogs is the longest winning streak under head coach Ruben Resendes.

• Fermin Rodriguez created an opportunity for trouble early by driving into open space and passing the ball to Marc Pitarch Bayot. Pitarch Bayot received all of the attention from the defense as Rodriguez cut behind the defenders, called for the ball and gets to the spot of the pass before anyone else, delivering a strike for the bottom left corner to start a stretch of three goals scored in eight minutes.

27:56 Fermin Rodriguez orchestrated a brilliant play to get Bryant on the board first. Rodriguez created an opportunity by delivering a pass to Marc Pitarch Bayot who returned him the favor by putting the ball in a position for him to strike.
29:49 Abdel Talabi uncorked a beauty of a long pass to Mamadi Jiana, who timed the pass perfectly, and blazed a path down the field. Jiana found himself one-on-one with the keeper and chipped the ball beside him for the goal.
33:15 Paco Fernandez ignited a counterattack. Fernandez kicked a through pass to Mamadi Jiana who got to the ball first and beat the goalkeeper once more.
59:37 Connecticut started with a quick throw-in to the box. Multiple huskies scrapped for the ball but it was Evan Pickering who struck through the tassel.
60:22 Almost as soon as Connecticut earned a fraction of optimism Tiago Dias layered a long pass to Fermin Rodriguez in stride. Rodriguez put the nail in the coffin with his second goal of the season.
