SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant women's volleyball team came up short against the Army Black Knights on Saturday afternoon, losing in four sets in Day 2 of the Bryant Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SET 1 – The Bulldogs got off to an 8-4 lead in the first set as Nina Gavin tallied a pair of kills and Brookelyn Talmadge and Kaitlin Curran each had one. Bryant then went on a 10-5 run to take the 18-9 lead, highlighted by a pair of kills from Ruth Ochelli, and London Hunt and Natalie Ricevuto each adding a kill, as well as Brookelyn Talmadge combining for three blocks. Brookelyn Talmadge and Natalie Ricevuto continued to shine as they each hammered another kill to put Bryant in front 21-13. Bryant closed out the first set as Ruth Ochelli continued to impress by notching a pair of kills and Kaitlin Curran added another as the Bulldogs sealed the first set victory 25-18.
- SET 2 – Bryant pulled in front 8-7 to begin the second set. Claudia Camacho-Castro and Brookelyn Talmadge each recorded a service ace, and Kaitlin Curran added a pair of kills. Army then went on an 8-2 run to take the 15-10 lead. The Bulldogs responded as Kaitlin Curran, Ruth Ochelli, Natalie Ricevuto, and Brookelyn Talmadge each thundered a kill, and Kaitlin Curran added a service ace to cut the deficit to 17-15. Ana Fuertes-Brito and Brookelyn Talmadge each added a kill for a late spark for Bryant, but Army polished off the second set 25-17.
- SET 3 – The Black Knights jumped out to an 8-4 lead, but the Bulldogs got some firepower from Brookelyn Talmadge, Ana Fuertes-Brito, and London Hunt who each tallied a kill. Bryant continued to fight as they rattled off a dominant 10-2 run, highlighted by a pair of kills from Brookelyn Talmadge and a kill each from Claudia Camacho-Castro and Arianna Ugolini to tie the score at fourteen a piece. London Hunt added two kills late in the set for Bryant, but Army closed out the third set on an 11-7 run to go up 2-1 in sets.
- SET 4 – The Bulldogs trailed 6-5 to open the set, with Natalie Ricevuto pounding two kills. The Black Knights continued to thrive as they went on a 13-7 run to take the 19-12 lead. The Bulldogs got a much-needed spark from Ruth Ochelli and Hannah Jackson who each chalked up a pair of kills to trim the deficit to 20-16. Bryant stayed alive as they capitalized off a pair of attack errors from Army and Kaitlin Curran added a kill, but the late push wasn't enough as Army secured the fourth set 25-20 and earned the road victory.
