Mamadi Jiana broke through and carved the defense lifting the No. 17 Bryant University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Providence on Saturday night at Chapey Field.
The Bulldogs earned their fifth-straight win of the season improving their record to 5-0-1. This result marks the first time that Bryant was able to defeat Providence in a men's soccer match in DI program history, a statement win in the smallest state as the campaign for the Pride of Smithfield continues.
The Bulldogs allowed an early goal from the Friars but quickly responded. Mamadi Jiani received a pass on the left side, controlling the tempo and striking at the perfect opportunity to deliver the equalizer early into the game.

Jiana throws the defender off his rhythm and fires in the face of another defender, squeezing in a brilliant shot from distance into the upper-right corner of the net.
- 59:18 Jaime Amaro drilled an appetizing corner into the box. The ball was punched up by the goalkeeper and dropped calmly into the goal.
