THE SERIES
Saturday's game marks the fourth time the Bulldogs and Bearcats have faced off. Last time out, the Bulldogs won 17-11 after
Kevin Groeninger and
Aidan Goltz combined for 11 goals in Vestal. These teams also met in the 2023 America East Semifinals and saw the Bulldogs come away with a 12-11 victory en route to an America East Championship.
AMEND EARNS THIRD AE HONOR
- Freshman midfielder Zac Amend has been tabbed for his third America East Rookie of the Week award, the league announced Monday, Apr. 14.
- Amend tallied four points (3g, 1a), two ground balls, and one caused turnover, helping lead the Bulldogs to a 16-14 victory over Bucknell last Saturday. That game marked Amend's fourth hat trick of the season and his sixth multi-goal game. He has recorded a hat trick in four of his last five contests.
- Amend was one of four Bulldogs to record hat tricks last weekend.
LEAVE IT TO LUCAS
- Drew Lucas has had a storied career in his four seasons with the Black and Gold. In 57 career games, he has recorded 19 points and 162 ground balls.
- Lucas also has 79 career caused turnovers. He is just six caused turnovers away from breaking the Division I school record of 85 which is held by Matt Murnane, (2009-10).
- Nationally, Lucas ranks 22nd overall in CT's per game this season (1.73). He has 19 total on the year.
BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES
- The Bulldogs will honor seven seniors and six grad students ahead of tomorrow's game.
- The seniors that have been here the past four years have been a part of 36 wins and an NCAA Tournament appearance during their tenure. They also were instrumental in the team continuing its tradition of excellence following Bryant's move to the America East Conference.
- Dawson Rielly, leads the conference in goals per game with 2.73. The attackman has scored five goals in a game three times this season (Merrimack on Feb. 15, Quinnipiac on Feb. 22 and NJIT on Apr. 5).
- Brian Russell is second in the league in assists per game with 1.91. He has put up 21 assists this season, including six in two games throughout the month of April.
- As a team, Bryant is 6th in the nation in caused turnovers per game (10.73).
- The Bulldogs are 21st in the NCAA in scoring defense; allowing 9.64 goals per game.
- The Black and Gold are 12th in the nation in clearing percentage (0.881).
- Bryant is tied for 17th in scoring offense as a team (12.55 goals per game).
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
- The Bearcats enter Saturday with a 2-2 record in America East play and are 4-7 overall. They last fell to UMBC by a score of 17-7 down in Baltimore.
- Liam Ferris leads the offense through 11 games this season. He has tallied 35 points (26g, 9a) while also scooping 22 ground balls and causing five turnovers.
- Gage Adams is second on the team in scoring with 26 points (14g, 12a). He also has 16 GB's and three CT's.
- Nolan Sharkey has been an anchor for Binghamton's defense this season. He has 32 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers. He's also expanded his skillset, showing flashes on the offensive side, logging three points (2g, 1a).
- The Bearcats have run a two man platoon at the faceoff X this season consisting of Flynn Wilson and CJ Mangio. Wilson has won 68-of-142 draws this season and has 17 ground balls. Mangio has gone 48-of-118 at X and also has 17 GB's.
- Connor Winters is Binghamton's primary goaltender this season. This year he has recorded 128 saves and has a 11.54 GAA.
- The Bearcats are coached by Kevin McKeown, who is in his ninth season at the helm.
- Winters is just 21 saves shy of Binghamton's program record of 509 career saves, which is currently held by Head Coach Kevin McKeown.
