THE SERIES
Saturday's game marks the third time the Bulldogs and Retrievers have faced off. Last year, Bryant fell to UMBC in overtime by a score of 13-12 in Baltimore.
AMEND TABBED FOR SECOND STRAIGHT CONFERENCE AWARD
- Freshman midfielder Zac Amend was named America East Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row on Monday, Mar. 24.
- Amend had an incredible performance in Bryant's Saturday showdown against Vermont, tallying a career high six points (3g, 3a).
BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES
- Scott Einarson leads the America East in saves with 89 so far this season. Einarson has averaged 11.13 saves per game and has a 10.05 GAA.
- Dawson Rielly and Brian Russell are tied for the team lead in points with 25. Rielly has recorded 21 goals and four assists on the year while Russell has 11 goals and 14 assists.
- The Bulldogs are ninth in the nation in man-up offense (0.526).
- Bryant is also ninth in the NCAA in in caused turnovers per game (10.50).
- After posting just six points (4g, 2a) in his first six games, Amend has 10 points (6g, 4a) in his last two.
- The Black and Gold have won their previous two home games, defeating St. John's 9-6 and UAlbany 12-11.
SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS
- The Retrievers enter Saturday at 2-0 in America East play and 4-2 overall. They last took down UAlbany in overtime, winning 13-12 on Mar. 22.
- Jordan Galloway leads the Retrievers offense through the first six games, tallying 22 points (13g, 9a).
- Alex Steers is the primary face-off specialist for UMBC. He has won 78-of-139 faceoffs and has 29 ground balls.
- Connor McMahon has started all six of UMBC's six games in cage this season.
- During his time between the pipes, he has made 49 saves and has a 10.26 GAA.
- The Retrievers are coached by Ryan Moran, who is in his ninth season at the helm.
