THE SERIES
Saturday's game marks the eighth time the Bulldogs and Catamounts have faced off. Last year, Bryant fell at home by a final score of 16-12. The Black and Gold will be looking for their first win against UVM since joining the America East. Bryant last won on Feb. 27, 2021 when it was a member of the NEC.
MURPHY AND AMEND TAKE HOME AE AWARDS
- Face-off specialist JJ Murphy and midfielder Zac Amend both picked up weekly awards from the America East Conference on Monday, Mar. 17. Murphy was named face-off specialist of the week while Amend took home rookie of the week honors.
- Murphy was dominant at the face-off X, winning 22-of-25 face-offs and scooping 15 ground balls. He also assisted Jack Lonsinger on what would be the game winning goal.
- Amend recorded four points (3g, 1a), tallying his first career hat-trick. He also picked up three ground balls and caused a turnover against the Great Danes.
BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES
- Scott Einarson remains the top goalie in the America East. He leads the league with 82 saves and has a 9.11 GAA.
- Freshmen Zac Amend and Luca Elmaleh tallied the first hat tricks of their collegiate careers last Saturday. Amend led the two with four points (3g, 1a) while Elmaleh finished with three goals.
- Jack Lonsinger recorded his second hat trick of the year. His final two scores came within six seconds of one another and ended up being the game-tying and game-winning goal.
- The Bulldogs have excelled at EMO's so far this season. Bryant is seventh in the nation in man-up offense (.563) and leading scorer Dawson Rielly is tied for fourth in the NCAA in man-up goals with five.
- Bryant is ninth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (10.43).
- The Bulldogs are tied for 18th in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing just 9.00 goals per game.
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
- The Catamounts enter Saturday at 2-4 on the season. They last fell to UMBC on the road by a final score of 10-7.
- Mathew Drimmie leads the team in scoring with 14 points (9g, 5a). Right behind him is Luke Reiter who has 13 points (6g, 7a).
- Henry Dodge is the primary face-off specialist for UVM. He has won over 72 percent of face-offs, going 78-of-108 at the face-off X. He also leads the nation in ground balls per game with 9.67 and a total of 58.
- Ryan Daly has started five of Vermont's six games in cage this season.
- During his time between the pipes, he has made 71 saves and has a 10.56 GAA.
- The Catamounts are coached by Chris Feifs, who is in his ninth season at the helm.
