Bryant to open conference play under the lights against UAlbany

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team will open conference play on Saturday, Mar. 15, when they take on the reigning America East Champion UAlbany Great Danes under the lights at Beirne Stadium. Faceoff is set for 7:00 PM.

THE SERIES
  • Saturday's game marks the seventh time the Bulldogs and Great Danes have faced off.
    Last year, Bryant won a 13-12 thriller in Albany, scoring the game-winning goal with five seconds remaining.

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES
  • Bryant was picked third in the America East Preseason on Jan. 14. The Bulldogs were the only other team besides UAlbany to receive a first place vote.
  • Drew Lucas was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference team ahead of the 2025 campaign. He currently leads the team with nine caused turnovers and has the most ground balls from a non-faceoff with 16.
  • Scott Einarson has been the best goalie in the conference so far this season, sporting a .591 save percentage and an 8.67 GAA.
  • Bryant is 11th in the nation in caused turnovers per game (10.50).
  • The Bulldogs are tied for 15th in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing just 8.67 goals per game.
RED HOT RIELLY
  • Dawson Rielly has been off to an incredible start to the 2025 season. He has tallied four hat-tricks in six games so far this season, including back-to-back five goal games against Merrimack and Quinnipiac.
  • He most recently had back-to-back three goal games against Brown on Mar. 4 and St. John's on Mar. 8.
  • Rielly is currently tied for first in the nation in man-up goals with five this year. He is also tied for the most total goals in the America East with 19.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
  • The Great Danes enter Saturday at 2-4 on the season. They last collected a 17-12 win over Hobart on Saturday, Mar. 8, thanks to a nine-goal performance by sophomore Ryan Doherty.
  • Doherty is second on the team in points this season with 25, which includes a team high 19 goals. Silas Richmond leads the team with 26 points (11g, 15a). Richmond also leads the America East in total assists, assists per game (2.5), total points, and points per game (4.33).
  • Five different Great Danes have taken faceoffs so far this season. CJ Schwarz has won the majority, going 28-70 at the faceoff X. The remaining players who have taken faceoffs include Jezard Hall (22-of-41), Austin Oppenheim (13-of-24), Rocco Mareno (9-of-14), and Dillon Mehta (2-of-6).
  • Freshman goalkeeper Brady Smith took over the starting job two games into the 2025 season. The rookie currently holds an 11.35 GAA, a .516 save percentage, and averages 9.8 saves per game. He was named the America East Goalkeeper of the Week on Mar. 10 after compiling 21 saves in two games, also adding an assist against Hobart for his first collegiate point.
  • The Great Danes are coached by Scott Marr, who is in his 25th season at the helm.
