BRYANT FALLS TO #10 MONMOUTH ON SATURDAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Olatunde Mkparu tallied an interception for the second consecutive game and Koby Kennan had a touchdown for the second straight week and a career-high 40 yards in the Bryant University football team's 35-7 loss on Saturday.
 
Liam Lindo had his second interception of the season, and Brandon Perkins led the Black and Gold with 13 tackles, while Zyheem Collick had a team-high 69 yards, including a 45-yard reception, in the loss.

  • The Black and Gold were stopped on 4th down with one minute remaining, and then Monmouth hit a 41-yard touchdown pass, with 21 seconds left, resulting in a 21-7 deficit for Bryant at the half.
 
How it Happened
 
  • Monmouth was driving on the first possession and got in the redzone, before Liam Lindo jumped the pass for his second interception of the season. The Bulldogs would go three and out on the ensuing drive.
  • The Hawks responded with a 69-yard rushing TD to the outside (7-0).
  • The Black and Gold tallied their second interception when Olatunde Mkparu jumped the route.
  • The Bulldogs then produced a seven-play drive that resulted in a nine-yard TD for Koby Keenan at the beginning of the second quarter (7-7).
  • Monmouth would then score two touchdowns in the last five minutes of the first half. The first touchdown was the result of a seven-play drive that was punched in on the goal line. The second touchdown was a 41-yard TD pass on the left side, with 20 seconds left (21-7).
