NO. 7 MEN'S SOCCER WINS LAST HOME GAME OF THE REGULAR SEASON

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Paco Fernandez's heroics lifted the No. 7 Bryant University men's soccer team past NJIT at home on Friday, as the Bulldogs earned a bounce-back win in America East play, 2-1.

Fernandez's first goal was the apex of team effort as five different players made contact with the ball on the play resulting in the goal, while his second in the 72nd minute sealed it.

The Bulldogs are 14-1-2 overall and 5-1 in the America East and will close out the regular season on Tuesday (Nov. 4) night at New Hampshire. Friday's victory also secured the Black and Gold a top two seed in the America East Championship.

19:06 Jiana threw the ball at Jorge Veintimilla. Veintimilla used the space that he was given to deliver a deep cross into the middle of the pitch. Marc Pitarch Bayot contorted his body to act like a springboard for the ball, lifting the ball up in the air off his back for Santiago Blasco Gomez. Blasco Gomez delivered a pass to Paco Fernandez who drew two defenders and threaded the needle into a brilliant goal off the woodwork. Great team effort for the Black and Gold.
71:37 Fermin Rodriguez dropped it back for Fernandez and Fernandez placed a perfect ball over the head of the keeper and under the cross bar from distance to make it 2-0.
87:56 NJIT made things interesting as Jack Krongold scored with 2:04 left in the game.
