NO. 2 MEN'S SOCCER CLASHES AGAINST NO. 7 VERMONT

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – No. 2 Bryant Men's Soccer faced Vermont at home in a thrilling matchup between championship-caliber programs, with the Catamounts coming away with a 2-1 victory.

The Bulldogs allowed two goals scored for the first time all season against the undisputed reigning champion. The Bulldogs gave everything they had in the second half for the roaring crowd at Beirne Stadium. The Black and Gold had 10 shots in the second half and held Vermont to only one. Graduate Student Santiago Blasco Gomez scored his second goal of the season off Jaime Amaro's assist.

The record for the Bulldogs stands at 13-1-2 after taking the first loss of the season. No. 2 Bryant will host NJIT for its Senior Day on Friday, Oct. 31. Bryant remains in contention for a potential first round bye as they are one of two teams with four wins in the conference.

69:29 Jaime Amaro saw a bouncing ball headed towards his way and squarely put the ball in place. After being swarmed by two defenders, Amaro took the ball and kicked it over the middle of the pitch to Santiago Blasco Gomez. Blasco Gomez gave it one touch and then threaded the needle between two Vermont defenders to get the Dawgs on the board.
