TALABI EARNS AMERICA EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

BOSTON – The anchor of the Black and Gold defense, Abdel Talabi was announced as the America East Defensive Player of the Week by the organization this morning.

Talabi scored a goal in back-to-back weeks for the Bulldogs, both of which coming off calculated corner kicks and both of which being the first score of the match. The Black and Gold defense have earned a clean sheet in three consecutive games. Abdel Talabi and Tiago Dias are the only Bulldogs to have started every game this season.

This is Talabi's first Player of the Week honor this season and of his Bulldog career. Additionally, Talabi was named in the Midseason Hermann Trophy Watchlist and Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 earlier this season.

The Black and Gold are on the road to New Jersey to play No. 5 Princeton this Tuesday. The next home game for the Bulldogs will be the long-awaited matchup against Vermont on Saturday, Oct. 25. For more information on Bryant University men's soccer, follow the Bulldogs on Instagram at bryantmsoc.
