How it Happened
  • Friday's game started with a pair of turnovers as Dorian Helm intercepted a pass at the Bryant 5 to end Brown's first drive of the game.
  • The Bulldogs then fumbled at their own 44 but the defense stood tall. Lonne Rice capped the effort with a sack on 4th-and-6 to give Bryant the ball.
  • Keefner used the momentum to orchestrate a seven-play, 63-yard scoring drive. He completed passes of 10 and 18 to Aldrich Doe and Zyheem Collick before calling his own number and beating two defenders for a nine-yard gain. Elliott then took over, picking up 10 yards on second down before gashing the Brown defense with a 14-yard touchdown run.
  • Bryant extended its lead with a 14-play, 92-yard drive that spanned seven minutes and 11 seconds. Elliott and Grant Robinson split duties on the drive, combining for 44 yards. Keefner then connected with Todd Phillips for 25 yards to the Brown 29 and 17 more to put Bryant to the five. Elliott punched it in three plays later to make it 12-0 with 1:56 left in the first half.
  • Brown grabbed a 15-12 with touchdowns on each of its first two drives of the second half. The Bears started with a quick five-play scoring drive on its first possession of the second half. Trevor Foley had the big play, a catch-and-run 47-yard touchdown.
  • The Bears then drove 71 yards in 11 plays and converted a two-point conversion to take a 15-12 lead with 6:12 left in the third quarter.
  • Bryant grabbed the lead right back as Keefner led the Bulldogs on a seven-play, 65-yard scoring drive. Keefner showed his poise on the drive, scrambling for 13 yards on 3rd-and-3 before standing in the pocket to drop a perfect pass to Collick for 12 yards. Doe then made a remarkable catch in the back corner of the endzone, leaping over his defender, for a 16-yard touchdown and a Bryant lead.
  • Brown took the lead back (22-19) with a seven-play drive that took just 2:00. A 37-yard completion ignited the drive and a 36-yard completion plus a roughing the passer penalty put the ball at the Bryant 5. Matt Childs punched it in to give the Bears the lead.
