Drew Lucas named to AE Preseason All-Conference Team; Men's Lacrosse picked third in Coaches Poll

BOSTON- Bryant University Men's Lacrosse senior defenseman, Drew Lucas, was selected to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Lucas put together a phenomenal 2024 campaign for the Black and Gold; recording 42 ground balls and causing 26 turnovers. The defenseman would also showcase some offense late in the season as he would post assists in back-to-back games, facing Binghamton and Brown. He would also score a goal against Brown, helping win the Bulldogs their 7th Ocean State Cup. Lucas was named First Team All-Conference by the America East and was a Second Team selection by the NEILA.

The America East also announced that the Bryant Men's Lacrosse team was picked third in the annual Preseason Coaches Poll.

UAlbany took the top spot in the poll receiving six of the possible seven first-place votes. Vermont finished second in the rankings and Bryant was third overall with one first place vote. UMBC, Binghamton, NJIT, and UMass Lowell rounded out the poll.

Last season, the Bulldogs went 4-3 in conference play and 9-5 overall.

Bryant will open the 2025 season against Providence on February 8th.
