COACH GARLACY'S COMMENTS
"We had great game changing performances from both Ana Fuertes-Brito and Lea Mackey,  who came in and provided a spark. Carrina Barron was solid on defense and aggressive on the receiving end.  The middles and opposites scored well in transition and Aubrey had an excellent stretch of passing for six rotations."
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Set 1- Bryant and Sacred heart battled it out throughout the first set and got to set point on two occasions. However, the Pioneers were able to rally back and extend the set. They would eventually go on to win 28-26. Aubrey LaPour and Arianna Ugolini each posted four kills in the first. Ugolini also landed the lone ace of the set for Bryant.
  • Set 2- Bryant came out firing on all cylinders in the second by getting out to an early 8-4 lead. That lead would soon grow to double digits with the Bulldogs at one point leading 20-9. The Pioneers would muster a few more points but Bryant would cruise to a 25-16 set win. LaPour would add on another sixkills to her total. The Bulldogs would also see a spark off the bench from Ana Fuertes-Brito. She would tally three kills; coming through a critical point for Bryant.
  • Set 3-. The third set would play similar to the first with the two sides exchanging leads in a tight contest. However this time around, The Black and Gold would stave off the Pioneers late rally and go up a set with a 25-23 win. Fuertes-Brito shined once again adding  another three kills as did London Hunt and Brookelyn Talmadge.
  • Set 4- The Black and Gold would seize the opportunity to put Sacred Heart in a decisive fourth set. With the set tied at 21-21, Bryant would score four unanswered points that featured kills from LaPour and Ugolini. Bryant would win the set 25-21 to complete the four set victory. Ugolini would lead the offense with six kills in the final set. Lea Mackey also stepped up with a pair of solo blocks in the fourth.
