COACH GARLACY'S COMMENTS
"We put a lot of service pressure on Holy Cross which frustrated their offense.  Fabi and London were very efficient all night attacking and we forced them into a lot of errors. Good team effort."
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Set 1- The first set of the evening saw Bryant and Holy Cross exchange leads; however the Crusaders held the early momentum. The tide would eventually turn in favor of the Bulldogs halfway through the first when the team rallied back from being down 15-12 and tied the score at 17 all. From that point one, Bryant would out score Holy Cross 8-3 and win the first set 25-20.
  • Set 2- Holy Cross would come out strong to start the second set and put the Bulldogs into a 4-0 hole. Despite this, Bryant would score four unanswered points of their own to tie the score and continued to battle back and forth with the Crusaders for the remainder of the set. Although Holy Cross would attempt to rally late, Bryant would hold on and go up two sets to zero with a 25-22 win.
  • Set 3- Bryant would come out on fire in the final set; going on an 11-1 run and leading to the Crusader burning two of their timeouts. This early momentum would fuel Bryant for the remainder of the match and the team would cruise to a 25-14 victory to complete the sweep. Arianna Ugolini would land three aces in the final set. Aubrey LaPour would also tack on three kills.
