COACH GARLACY'S COMMENTS
"We were not running on all cylinders tonight for some reason.  Credit to Albany for playing a very clean match."
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Set 1- Bryant and UAlbany would start the match off close as both sides would exchange points to open up play. The Great Danes however would seemingly have a slight edge that would remain with them throughout the set and allow them to pull away and win 25-17. Arianna Ugolini would have a promising first set as she would finish with 4 kills to go along with an ace and a block assist. Ana Fuertes-Brito would also post a pair of kills and a block.
  • Set 2- The second set would see a much closer battle between the Dawgs and the Danes as the two sides would constantly swap leads thanks to their high powered offenses. Bryant would manage to get to set point, however UAlbany would rally to tie the score at 24-24 and extend the set. From there the Danes would go on a 3-1 run and win 27-25 and put the Bulldogs in an 0-2 hole. Aubrey LaPour would have a team high 5 kills in the set. Brookelyn Talmadge would also have a pair of blocks in the frame.
  • Set 3- UAlbany would continue to ride their momentum into the final set against the Bulldogs; going on a 16-5 run to start. This early lead would simply be too much for the Bulldogs to overcome and they would ultimately fall by a final score of 25-11. Fabi Castro would lead the Black and Gold with 3 kills in the third.
