WASHINGTON, D.C. - Behind five goals from junior Allison Faiola (Billerica, MA), the Bryant University women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season downing Howard University 15-4 Thursday afternoon.  With the win, Bryant improves to 1-4 on the season while Howard drops to 0-5.

Bryant never trailed in the game as senior Lauren Albert (South Windsor, CT) scored two of the Bulldogs first three goals with freshman Mary Green (Merrick, NY) netting the other as the Bulldogs built a quick 5-2 lead on the Bison.

Leading 6-4 at the half, Faiola and the Bulldogs turned things up offensively.  Delia Glover (Marston Mills, MA) and Eliza Demarseilles (Branford, CT) stretched the Bryant lead to 8-4 before Faiola scored three-straight to give Bryant a commanding 11-4 lead and the Bulldogs were cruised from there.

Faiola, last year's leading scorer with 66 goals, entered Thursday's game with two over the first four games.  Her five against Howard gives her seven on the season, second on the team.

Bryant out-shot Howard 37 to 15 for the game as freshman goalie Lauren Filippone (West Babylon, NY) notched her first career win in goal for the Bulldogs.

Bryant will travel to Saint Francis (PA) this Saturday for a 1 pm game.
