SMITHFIELD, RI - Senior Likica Grceva (Natick, Mass.) posted a
team-best 12 kills and added 15 digs to lead the Bryant volleyball
team to a 3-0 win over visiting Bridgeport in the first of two
matches Friday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center. The
Bulldogs hit .195 offensively and added eight service aces in the
match.
After winning the opening game 30-25, the Bulldogs used strong
play at the net to win the next two 30-20, 30-20. Morgan Wood
(Cedar Park, Texas) had three blocks while Tiffany Garry
(Frankfort, IL) added a pair to go with 32 assists.
In the second match of the night, the Bulldogs got 14 kills from
Grceva and 11 from freshman Adrienne Boss (Dracut, Mass.) in
earning a 3-1 win over Saint Michael's College. The Bulldogs won
the first two, 30-17, 30-23 and after dropping a 30-27 decision in
the third, came back strong to win the fourth game, 30-16.
Freshman Miranda Kolb (Holt, MI) had 18 assists and added three
blocks. Bryant as a team out-blocked the Purple Knights 13 to
2 in the match with Caitlin Kogge (Enfield, Conn.) accounting for a
season-best seven total blocks on the night.
The Bulldogs will next host Merrimack College on Tuesday night
at 7 p.m.
