VOLLEYBALL WINS TWO MORE AT INVITATIONAL SATURDAY

Junior Maureen Atkins was named the Libero of the Tournament at this weekend's Bryant Invitational.  Atkins finished with 61 digs in four matches for the weekend.  www.dspics.com

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant women's volleyball team made it a perfect 4-0 weekend by closing out the Bryant Invitational with two more wins Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center. Behind the play of senior Likica Grceva (Natick, Mass.), the Bulldogs earned a 3-0 win over Queens (NY) in the opener and defeated Mercy by a similar score in the second match. 

Grceva had 16 kills and hit .312 in the win over Queens while Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) added 35 assists and a team-best seven service aces.  Grceva would come back strong in the second match against Mercy, leading the way with 13 kills while sophomore Julie Geonnotti (St. Louis Park, Minn.) added nine kills off the bench. 

Bryant will host UMass Lowell this Tuesday evening for a Northeast-10 Conference match at 7 p.m.
