Bulldogs Start Quickly on Bryant Invitational's Opening Night

Smithfield, RI- Likica Grceva (Natick, Mass.) led the Bryant Bulldogs to a convincing sweep of C.W. Post and Bloomfield on the opening night of the Bryant Invitational Friday night. On the evening, Grceva tallied 37 kills to lead the Bulldogs by C.W. Post 3-1 (30-19, 28-30, 30-28, 30-20) and Bloomfield 3-0 (30-18, 30-14, 30-23.

The Bullodgs got revenge on C.W. Post, who defeated the Bulldogs 3-2 in a hard fought match last weekend at the Bryant Invitational. Monika Sattler (Gruenwald, Germany) added 14 kills against the Pioneers in the Bulldogs first game of the night. Senior Tiffany Gary (Frankfort, IL) had 61 assists in the victory.

 In the Bulldogs' second game, Grceva again led the Bulldogs with 15 kills and no errors on the attack. Freshman Caitlyn Kogge (Enfield, CT) added 10 kills in the 3-0 victory.

Maureen Atkins (Fenton, MO ) had 37 digs on the evening for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday at 12pm with a matchup with Queens and 2pm match with Mercy. Queens defeated Mercy Friday night in a hard-fought 3-0 (30-20, 31-29, 30-28)match.
