MEN'S LACROSSE ROLLS TO 11-5 WIN OVER BENTLEY
box score
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant
University men's lacrosse sophomore Kevin Hoagland, Matt McKeefrey
and Bryan Kaufmann scored three goals each to lead the Bulldog
men's lacrosse team to an 11-5 win over visiting Bentley College
Thursday night.
The win, Bryant's fifth-straight, improves the Bulldogs to 5-2
on the year and 4-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Bentley,
which got a pair of goals from Craig Cormier, drops to 3-5 and 2-3
in the NE-10.
Idle for a little over two weeks, the Bulldogs were a bit rusty
at the start, falling behind 2-1 late in the first quarter, but an
unassisted goal from Jim Long with just over two minutes left in
the quarter tied things up at 2-2 apiece.
From there, the Bulldogs took the game over as McKeefrey scored
back-to-back goals, one coming right off the opening face off of
the second quarter as the speedster picked up a loose ball and
easily slipped one past starting Bentley goalie Kris Dambach.
A few minutes later, McKeefrey would make it 4-2 Bryant scoring
after making a nifty move behind the cage and scoring on a dive
across the front.
Leading 7-3 at the half, two goals from Kaufmann and another by
Hoagland put the game away and the Bulldogs emptied the
bench.
Bryant will host Franklin Pierce on Saturday at 1 p.m.
