Volleyball Splits Pair at Bentley Fall Classic

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Bryant University women's volleyball team
went 1-1 Saturday at the Bentley College Fall Classic. The
Bulldogs rolled to a 3-0 win over Bridgeport (30-21, 30-23, 30-8)
in the opener and fell to CW Post in a five-game thriller (16-30,
30-27, 30-23, 26-30, 14-16).
In the opener, Likica Grceva
(Natick, Mass.) led the way with 12 kills and 9
service aces while Vanessa Lavallee (Gilford,
NH) had 10 kills offensively. Senior
Elysce Tackmann (East Providence, RI) had 12 digs
with sophmore libero Maureen Atkins (Fenton, MO)
chipping in with 11.
Junior setter Tiffany Garry (Frankfort,
IL) played well running the offense, finishing with
36 assists plus added seven kills and six digs.
Against CW Post, Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH)
had 21 kills to lead all Bulldogs while Garry added
56 assists. For her efforts, Garry was named
to the Fall Classic All-Tournament team.
Bryant (11-9) will visit Southern New Hampshire Tuesday night in
Manchester, NH for a Northeast-10 Conference match. The
Bulldogs are 3-0 in conference matches this season.
