BENTLEY WINS NINTH NORTHEAST-10 TOURNAMENT TITLE

SMITHFIELD, RI - Tournament MVP Christina Sadowski
(Salem, NH) hit a blistering .600 with 17 kills in leading
the Bentley College Falcons the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference
Championship with a 3-0 win over top-seed Saint Rose Saturday
night. Bentley, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, will earn
the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which will be
announced Sunday.
The Falcons (26-10), which fell to Saint Rose 3-0 in the regular
season, avenged their only conference loss with a solid
attack. Along with Sadowski's 17 kills, Susan Harrahy
(Nashua, NH) added 15 kills and hit .324 while NE-10
Freshman of the Year Alex Kearney (La Jolla, CA)
added 10 kills and 10 digs defensively.
Saint Rose (25-5) was led by NE-10 Player of the Year
Stephanie Brink (Port Ewen, NY) who had 12 kills
and hit .360, but finished with only one block. Sally
Munter (Chesapeake, VA) had 11 kills as Saint Rose
finished with 10 blocks in the match, three by Munter and three by
Jacyln Griffin (Glen Mills, PA). The Golden
Knights hit .204 for the match.
In the semifinal match, the Falcons defeated Bryant 3-1.
Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH) had 13 kills and
Vanessa Lavallee (Gilford, NH) added 12 kills to
lead Bryant. Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL)
had 42 assists in the match.
