Following a thrilling 32-30 opening game win by the Golden Knights,
Bryant would bounce back to win the second, 30-20 as the Bulldogs
raced out to a quick lead and closed the match with a kill and solo
block by Cegarra to even the match.
Saint Rose, behind tough play at the net (12 total team
blocks - 3 solo, 18 assisted) pulled away midway through the
critical third game, holding off a late rally by the Bulldogs to
win 30-27. But the resilient Bulldogs would not go away,
overcoming from a slow start in the fourth to win 30-27 forcing the
deciding fifth game. Bryant led 28-28 in game four and was
able to withstand a pair of late kills by Brink and the solid
blocking from Jacyln Griffin (Glen Mills, PA) and
Alyssa Broccoli (Middletown, NY).
But in the fifth, Saint Rose's power game at the net was too
much for the Bulldos as the visitors sprinted out to a 9-4 lead
