BRYANT UNIVERSITY VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS
UMASS LOWELL 3-0 WEDNESDAY

SMITHFIELD, RI – Michelle Muniz
(Guaynabo, P.R.) tallied
a game-high 17 kills and added 10 digs to help lead the Bryant
University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win over UMass
Lowell on Wednesday evening.
The Bulldogs, with the win, improve to 6-6 overall and 3-0 in the
Northeast-10 Conference. UMass Lowell, led by Julie
Handy's (Yorba
Linda,
Calif.) 16 kills and 13 digs,
falls for just the second time this season as the River Hawks fall
to 6-2 on the year and 2-1 in conference.
Bryant, which has now won 31-straight regular-season conference
games, pulled out an exciting 33-31 win in the opening game as both
teams battled back and forth before a kill from Muniz and a service
ace from Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) closed out
the game for the Bulldogs.
Bryant would cruise from there as Jessica Cegarra
(Danville,
NH) would finish the match with
11 kills while the Bulldogs would pick up eight service aces
– three courtesy of Elysce Tackmann
(Riverside,
RI). Katie
Harrington (Rochester,
NH) had seven kills while
Kristina Martell
(Chelmsford,
MA) added 11 defensive digs for
the River Hawks.
Bryant will host Stonehill (4 p.m.) and Bridgeport (6 p.m.) this
Friday at the Chace Athletic Center.
