SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University women's
lacrosse team lost to Northeast-10 Conference foe Merrimack 18-6 in
game played today at Bulldog Stadium.
With the win Merrimack improves to 9-3 overall and 7-1 in
Northeast-10 play while Bryant falls to 9-4 and 6-2 in conference
play.
Bryant would score the first goal of the game just two minutes
into the game when Shaun Leddy (Sea Girt, NJ)
scored an unassisted goal for the Bulldogs. Bryant would then make
the score 2-1 when an Amanda Gallant
(Andover,
Mass.) another unassisted goal.
The Warriors then went on to score seven of the last eight goals
giving them a 8-3 halftime lead.
Merrimack would come out in the second half an outscore Bryant
10-3 to take home the win.
Allison Kownacki led the way for Merrimack scoring seven goals
and Allison Colarusso added five. Bryant was led by Gallant who
scored two goals and added an assist.
Bryant will return to action Saturday when they travel to
Southern New Hampshire for a Northeast-10 Conference game slated
for a 1:00PM start.
