Biography

As a senior: Maintained her dominant career through her senior campaign, earning Second Team All-NEC as a pitcher and co-pitcher of the week after earning three-straight wins in conference play over one weekend ... Threw a season-high nine strikeouts in Bryant's 3-2 win over Central Connecticut, as part of Bryant's six-game winning streak ... Went 7-13 in the circle and 7-4 in conference play, recording a staff-best 3.20 ERA in 131.1 innings ... Led the Bulldogs, batting .319 with a .387 on base percentage and .467 slugging percentage ... Accummulated 20 runs off 43 hits, including eight doubles and a team-high four home runs ... Sits second in the program's all-time record books with 53 wins on the mound and fourth all-time with 376 strikeouts.

As a junior: Put together another strong season in 2015, appearing in all but one game for the Bulldogs … Ranked second on the team with a .304 batting average (15th in NEC) … Led the NEC with 12 homeruns, while ranking in the top five in total bases (86), RBI (36), and slugging percentage (.623) … Also recorded 23 runs scored, four doubles, two triples and 17 walks … Recorded 10 multi-hit games including five contests with three hits … Posted seven multi-RBI games … Went 3-for-4 with three homeruns, six RBI and four runs scored vs. Maryland ES on Feb. 21 … In the pitching circle, led the team with 34 appearances, going 11-18 on the year with a 3.11 ERA in 175.2 inning pitched … Named to the All-NEC Second Team (Pitcher) … Earned NEC Player of the Week recognition on Feb. 23.

As a sophomore: Put together one of the best seasons in Bryant softball history, appearing in 53 games while making 52 starts … Led the team in batting average (.346), homeruns (13), RBI (41), and slugging percentage (.660) … Posted career highs in almost every other statistical category including hits (55), runs scored (23), doubles (11), and at bats (159) … Ranked in the top five in the Northeast Conference in hits, RBI, homeruns, and total bases … In the circle, posted a 25-12 record in 35 starts, compiling a 3.25 ERA in 236.2 innings to go along with 151 strikeouts (5th in NEC) … Set the Bryant record for homeruns (13) and wins (25) in a single season … Allowed just five hits and zero earned runs in a 14 inning sweep of Mount St. Mary’s on April 25 to clinch the NEC Regular Season Title … Posted a career-high nine strikeouts in a win over Wagner on April 5 … Went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a homerun, and three RBI vs. Albany on April 9 … Named NEC Player of the Year, All-NEC First Team (Pitcher), NEC Tournament Most Valuable Player, and NFCA All-Northeast Region Second Team (Pitcher).

As a freshman: This dual threat broke out nearly halfway through the 2013 season, earning 26 starts at designated player and establishing herself as a legitimate cleanup hitter for the Bulldogs … Finished the year hitting .329 (third-best on Bryant) with 27 hits, including nine doubles, one triple and six homeruns to go along with 26 RBI and 20 runs scored … Drew 11 walks, posting a .411 on-base percentage … Recorded seven multi-hit games, including a career-best 3-for-4 with three doubles and five RBI vs. Saint Francis U. on April 6 …. In the circle, led the Bulldogs with a 10-6 overall mark, including a 3.05 era in 85 innings of work … Complied a team-best 49 strikeouts and a pair of saves … Put together a 16 innings stretch (five games) in which she collected three wins and a save while allowing just two earned runs … Selected as NEC Rookie of the Week a league-best four times … Earned a First Team All-Northeast Conference selection (designated player).

Before Bryant: A four-year starter at Wheat Ridge H.S. (Colo.), Madsen has the makings of a power pitcher when she arrives on campus.  Standing at 5-foot-9, the Colorado native most recently completed a fantastic senior year in which she was nominated as the Gatorade Player of the Year award en route to being named to the all-state team, all while pitching her team to a state championship title.  Madsen also earned varsity letters in basketball, track and field and golf, and is a member of the Colorado Styxx travel team.
