Three-year varsity starter at Bernards High School under coach Jon Simoneau, earning the 2012 Maxwell Award as the New Jersey Player of the Year … Set school passing records with 5,270 career yards and 51 career touchdowns … Accumulated 866 career yards on the ground including 16 touchdowns … Threw for 2,078 yards and 20 touchdowns to just two interceptions as a senior, while rushing for 448 yards and nine scores … Led the Mountaineers to a Mid-State 38 Conference Championship in the Union Division in 2012 … Named First Team All-State Group 2, first team all-area, first team all-county and first team all-conference … Honored with the Scholar-Athlete Award and was named team captain in his final season … Recognized as the MSG Varsity Top Tri-State in 2012 … As a junior, named first team all-area, first team all-county, first team all-conference and all-state honorable mention while throwing for 2,134 passing yards and 23 touchdowns … Helped the Mountaineers to win a Mid-State 39 Championship in the Hills Division in 2011 … Also was a four-year varsity lacrosse starter, scoring 126 career goals, while notching 40 assists while earning Second Team All-State honors.
