Coach Layton begins his first season with the Black and Gold as the Running Backs Coach and Graduate Assistant.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Layton spent the 2023 season as the Defensive Quality Control Coach at Priceton University, primarily working with Defensive Backs. During his time, the Tigers' defense ranked number one in the Ivy League and sixth in the nation. Layton coached Safety Nasir Hill, who earned All-Conference honors.
In the 2022 season, Layton served as the Offensive Quality Control Coach at Villanova, working with Wide receivers; he coached Jaaron Hayek, who was first-team All-CAA and averaged 102 receiving yards per game and is now a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Layton was a four-year letter winner at Bloomsburg University as a Wide Reciever and specialist.
Personal: Layton is a native of Philadelphia, PA., and the oldest of five (Justin, Jake, Jennifer, and Ally).
