SCOTIA, N.Y. — The Bryant University women's rowing team competed in the Mohawk Fall Classic on Sunday, September 27, marking the Bulldogs' first race under new leadership.
Bryant raced three boats across two events, with two boats competing in the Collegiate 4+ and one boat racing in the Collegiate 8+.
In the Collegiate 4+, the Bulldogs' A boat of
Meredith Morey, Reese Gregory, Annabelle Marushock,
Violet Gutierrez and
Valentina Serrano finished with a time of 17:23.65.
Bryant's B boat featured
Samantha Neal,
Maryn Yost, Flavia Velmishi,
Ava Wasylow and
Jayla Stone, finishing in 18:57.91.
The Bulldogs also competed in the Collegiate 8+, with
Valentina Serrano,
Meredith Morey,
Violet Gutierrez,
Maryn Yost,
Samantha Neal, Alex Leahy, Juliana Frascella,
Ava Wasylow and
Frances Villar-Rocafort finishing with a time of 17:19.77.
The Mohawk Fall Classic marked Bryant's first competition of the fall season as the Bulldogs begin a new chapter under their new leadership.
"We had a solid first weekend of racing! Our roster is so young and new to the sport of Rowing, and this group has put in some serious time on the erg while also, learning how to row. This weekend, we wanted to learn what it means to compete, and I am incredibly proud of the work our athletes put in, especially during some tough weather!" said Coach Reifsnyder.
