VOLLEYBALL OPENS AMERICA EAST PLAY WITH HOME MATCHES THIS WEEKEND

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University women's volleyball team will open America East play this weekend, hosting NJIT on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. and UMBC Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY:

NJIT

Friday's match will be the 11th meeting between Bryant and NJIT.
The Bulldogs have won nine consecutive matches against the Highlanders and hold a 9-1 all-time record.
Bryant lasted faced NJIT on Nov. 14, 2025, sweeping the Highlanders at the Chace Athletic Center.
Arianna Ugolini logged 18 kills and Kaitlin Curran posted 11 kills in the victory.

UMBC

Sunday's match will be the 12th meeting between Bryant and UMBC.
The Bulldogs hold a 2-9 all-time record against the Retrievers.
Bryant last faced UMBC on Nov. 2, 2025, falling 3-1 at the Chace Athletic Center.
Ugolini tallied 18 kills and Brookelyn Talmadge registered 10 kills in the lost.

BULLDOG NOTES:

Bryant swept Central Connecticut in its last match on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Talmadge and Natalie Ricevuto led the Bulldogs with seven kills each.
Curran has produced a Bulldogs-best 159 kills and is averaging 3.48 points per set.
Carrina Barron has racked up a Bulldogs-best 241 digs and is averaging 4.55 digs per set.
Hannah Jackson and Layla Olatunde have also surpassed 100 kills, delivering 127 and 109, respectively.
Madison Koeller has recorded 312 assists and four double-doubles.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS:

NJIT hosted the NJIT Invitational this past weekend, dropping matches to Seton Hall, New Haven and Iona.
Ema Torres ranks at the top of the Highlanders offense with 128 kills.
Pedro Trevino directs NJIT in his eighth season with the program. Trevino played for NJIT's men's team as a setter from 1997-2000.

SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS:

After getting swept by Temple on Sept. 19, the Retrievers will open their conference schedule at UAlbany on Sept. 25 before facing the Bulldogs.
Hannah Dobbs leads UMBC's offense with 131 kills.
Fifth-year head coach Kasey Crider helms the Retrievers.
