RICHMOND, VA. - Shamar Fowles of the Bryant University football team was named the CAA Footbal Rookie of the Week by the organization on Monday morning.

Fowles had a career day in the 31-3 conference victory at Hampton on Saturday. He tallied four receptions for a career-high 112 yards. He also added a dazzling 60-yard touchdown where he sprinted past the entire Pirates defense on a wide receiver screen, his first career touchdown.

Fowles is the first 100-yard receiver since Landon Ruggieri in 2024, and this is his first career weekly honor.

The Black and Gold will play at Beirne Stadium for the first time this season as they welcome Princeton for homecoming.
