Keylijah Williams,
Olatunde Mkparu and
Gideon Bedada were named to the Phil Steele All-CAA Preseason teams by the organization on (whenever its released.)
Williams was named to the first team as a kick returner and second team as an all-purpose player. Bedada and Mkparu were both named to the second team as a defensive lineman and defensive back, respectively.
Named a preseason All-American last week, Williams set a career-high in kick return yards with 722, leading the CAA last fall. He also tied the DI program record for the longest kick return with a 100-yard kick return touchdown against Campbell. Williams posted three games of 100+ kick return yards and averaged 60 yards per game, his second consecutive season of 60+ yards.
Bedada had a career year last season, playing in 11 games and posting career highs in tackles (18), tackles for loss (4.5), and sacks (3.5). He had two games of four tackles against Brown and Stony Brook. Bedada registered a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss in the victory at UAlbany.
Mkparu recorded career-highs in interceptions (2) and pass deflections (7). He had his first-ever forced fumble against URI. Mkparu posted interceptions in back-to-back games against URI and Monmouth.
