BOSTON -- Bryant University student-athletes excelled on and off the field during the 2025-26 academic year, with 22 earning America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete distinction.
All Graduating student-athletes who compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher as an undergraduate student and earned their undergraduate degree in 2025-26 are named Presidential Scholar-Athletes. The 157 honorees is 19 more than the previous record of 138 set in 2024. Bryant's 22 honorees are the third-most in the America East, behind Vermont (26) and Maine (23).
In addition to registering a 3.75 GPA for their college career, honored student-athletes must have received their undergraduate degree in the academic year they are honored and have attended their institution for a minimum of two years.
The Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award program started during 2013-14 academic year. In total, 1,258 student-athletes have been honored as part of the program.
Vermont led all schools with 26 honorees, while Maine was second with 23, Bryant had 22 and UMass Lowell finished with 19 to round out the top four schools. Women's track & field had 28 total honorees to lead all sports, while women's swimming & diving had 20 and men's track & field had 19 honorees. Women's soccer had 17 recognized while men's lacrosse rounded out the top five with 16 honorees.
America East is proud to have one of most comprehensive academic awards programs in the country, which honors over two-thirds of its student-athletes for their success in the classroom, including its sports Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic honorees, Presidential Scholar-Athletes and its Honor Roll Elite 18 recipients.
