ARLINGTON, TX – The dream season for the Bryant women's bowling team came to an end on Friday afternoon in the Regional Round of the NC Bowling Championship at the International Training and Research Center.
The tournament consisted of a mega-match, double-elimination format. The first game is a traditional five-person game, the second is Baker Total Pinfall, and the third is a Baker Best of 7 if necessary.
Bryant started the day against No. 4 LA Tech in their first match of the Regional Round. The Bulldogs took Game 1 by a score of 926-917. Bryant was led by senior
Laura Clark, who bowled an outstanding score of 259.
LA Tech responded in Game 2, defeating Bryant by a score of 1053-868. This forced a deciding Game 3 in a Baker Best of 7 format.
The momentum for LA Tech rolled over into the Best of 7. They won the first three games to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Bryant fought back however, winning the next two games to cut the deficit to 3-2. LA Tech took care of business in the sixth game, winning the mega match 2-1 and sending Bryant into the loser's bracket.
The Bulldogs then squared off against Wichita State to keep their season alive. The Shockers took Game 1 by a score of 1127-906.
The Shockers were too much to handle for the Bulldogs in Game 2, coming on top 1062-942 to win the match 2-0.
