MEN’S LACROSSE RALLIES PAST IONA, 17-6

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Zac Amend recorded a career-high five goals to lift the Bryant University men's lacrosse team to a 17-6 victory over Iona on Saturday evening at Beirne Stadium.

With the win, the Black and Gold improve to 5-5 overall. Bryant plays its next matchup against Binghamton next Saturday.

The Dawgs recorded nine unanswered goals in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

  • Kyle Fedorcha opened the scoring efforts for Bryant with 10 minutes to go in the first quarter.
  • Owen West scored five minutes later to give Bryant a 2-0 lead.
  • The two teams traded goals to end the first quarter at 3-1.
  • Luke Neary ripped three-consecutive goals to give the Gaels a one-goal lead with 6:19 to go in the second quarter.
  • The Black and Gold scored 13-consecutive goals, capped off by a fourth quarter goal from Connor Ruppert.
  • Carson Turissini tacked on two goals in the fourth quarter.
  • Nick Pisano scored with 20 seconds left to bring the game to its final score.
