Key Moment

How it Happened
  • UAlbany grabbed the lead with two runs in the top of the second. An infield single was followed by a bunt turned into a single as the runner beat the throw. A walk loaded the bases and Brian Guerrero followed with a two-run single up the middle.
  • Bryant quickly answered, scoring three times in the bottom of the second. Gavin Greger singled, Carlos Irizarry reached as his sac bunt turned into a throwing error and Dylan Prince was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Brandyn Durand followed with a drive to left center that split the outfielders and cleared the bases to give Bryant a 3-2 lead.
  • It remained that way until the seventh as both starters settled in. For Bryant, Ty Davis retired eight-straight batters from the third through the first out of the sixth before back-to-back singles put two on with one out. Davis rebounded with back-to-back strikeouts.
  • For UAlbany, Banner worked out of trouble all afternoon, throwing 118 pitches over six innings. He stranded the bases loaded in the second, fifth and sixth. In total, Bryant left 12 men on against Banner.
  • UAlbany was finally able to get to Davis in the seventh. Cooper Loyal singled with one out and Pat DeSano was hit by a 3-2 pitch with two outs, ending Davis' afternoon. Tre Mariano then greeted Aidan Vining with a game-tying double down the left field line. Vining rebounded to strikeout Levi McAllister to strand runners on second and third.
  • The Great Danes grabbed the lead with three runs in the top of the ninth. With a man on second and two outs, Bryant intentionally walked Mariano to face McAllister and he drove a 3-1 pitch to left center for a two-run double. Mueller followed with an RBI double to make it 6-3.
