HACKENSACK, N.J. – The No. 18 ranked Bryant women's bowling team captured their first ECC championship in program history on Sunday at Bowler City Lanes.
After going 2-0 against No. 4 Adelphi and No. 3 Molloy on Saturday, the Bulldogs faced Molloy again in a mega-match format in the championship round on Sunday.
Bryant started with a win in the traditional five-person game, outscoring Molloy 999-979. The Bulldogs were led by the All-ECC duo of
Madison Lewis and
Madison Damer. Lewis led the Bulldogs with a score of 247 and Damer finished with a score of 243.
The momentum carried over for the Bulldogs into the total pinfall baker portion of the match. Bryant outscored Molloy 1023-833 in baker format to win the match 2-0 and earn their first conference title in program history.
The Bulldogs are in their fourth year of existence as a program, led by the direction of two-time ECC Coach of the Year
Morgan Walsh.
Bryant capped off their best season in program history with their first conference championship and their first bid to the NCAA tournament.
