SWIMMING AND DIVING SET FOR AMERICA EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS

LEXINGTON, VA – The Bryant University swim and dive team will compete in the America East Championships Feb. 18-21 at Virginia Military Institute.

Bulldog Notes and Highlights:

On the season…
  • Aidan Trenery enters the championships with the chance for a special weekend as he ranks in the top 10 time-wise in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 fly, 200 IM adn 400 IM. 
  • Nick Austin joins Trenery in the 100 breast and the 200 breast. 
  • James Misto finds himself in the top 10 of both the 50 free (2nd) and the 100 fly.
  • Bryant's distance team could also be in for a big week as Adam Kiss enters top 10 in the 500 free, Raymond Stelmark is top 4 in the 1000 free and Kiss, Stelmark and Patrick Maldonado are all top 10 in the 1650 free.
  • Tim Andrews enters the week with the top time in the 200 fly and is also in the top 10 of the 100 fly. He is joined in the top 10 by Trenery and Ryan Connors. Andrews is also in the top 10 of the 200 IM.
  • Zach Proulx and Calix Hammett are in the top 10 in the 100 back, while Proulx and Jack Ventre are in the top 10 of the 200 back.
  • Chris Buonocore enters his final career meet with a chance for glory. He swept both diving events at the 2024 Championship meet and will look to do the same this year after finishing second in the 1-meter and third in the 3-meter in 2025. The seasoned diver heads into the meet with the top mark on both boards. 
  • Ruby Tonelli-Smith, the former School Sports Australia National Championship runner-up in the 100 fly and the 2025 #AESD 100 Fly Champion, looks to continue her success. The sophomore enters the championship meet with the top time in both the 100 fly (53.12) and the 200 fly (1:57.68), while ranking second in the 200 IM (2:03.72). 
  • Katherine Bailey could have a special week in the distance events as she enters with the top time in the 500 free and 1650 free and the third-best time in the 1000 free.
  • Makayla Pearce, Aurelie Honsberger and Anna Jackson are also in the top 10 in the distance free events.
  • Marcella Figueroa and Sofia Doersch own top 10 times in 50 free.
  • Jocie Niemczyk is setup with a top 10 time in 100 free, the top time in hte 100 breast and third-best time in the 200 breast.
  • Pearce and Jill Carline also own top 10 times in the 100 free.
  • Clara Steen and Jacqui Fox are in the top 10 in 100 back, while Fox and Elise Richardson own top 10 times in the 200 back.
  • Bryant has several swimmers vying for the podium in the fly and IM events in addition to Tonelli-Smith. Amanda Witkus owns top 10 times in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM after winning gold in the 400 IM, silver in the 200 IM and bronze in the 200 fly at last year's championships.
  • Ava Mustacciuolo owns a top 10 time in the 100 fly and 200 fly, while Clara Steen is top 10 in the 100 fly.
  • Addison Abreu owns top 10 times in both the 200 IM and 400 IM.
  • On the boards, Megan Beasley looks to defend her gold medal in the 1m dive and looks to sweep the events as she enters with the higehst scorer in the 3m.
