BUONOCORE WINS GOLD, BULLDOGS IN THIRD AFTER DAY ONE OF AE CHAMPIONSHIPS

LEXINGTON, VA. -- Chris Buonocore won a gold medal and set a meet record in the 3 meter dive as the Bryant men's swimming and diving team sits in third place after day one of the 2026 America East Swimming and Diving Championships.

Bryant closed out day one with 87 points, trailing UMBC (125) and defending champion Binghamton (115).

Notes and Notables
  • The 2024 America East Diver of the Year, Buonocore had gold hung from his neck for the thrd time in his career. He won the 3 meter dive with a meet record score of 348.20.
  • Bryant's 200 medley relay team of Zach Proulx, Derek McIntyre, Tim Andrews and James Misto earned a silver medal with a time of 1:28.41.
  • The 800 free relay team of Calix Hammett, Adam Kiss, Nick Andrews and Arthur Newton closed the night with a bronze medal.

Day two of the America East Championships begins at 10:00 a.m. with preliminary heats in the 1 meter dive, 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free. Finals will begin at 5:30 p.m.
