BRYANT TO HOST NC A&T FOR A CAA MATCHUP ON SATURDAY UNDER THE LIGHTS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University football team returns to action after the bye week as they welcome North Carolina A&T for a CAA matchup at Beirne Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Series History

  • This is the second matchup between the Aggies and Bulldogs and the first since 2022. Both teams met when each was part of the Big South. Bryant fell 24-13 in North Carolina. This will be the first matchup in Smithfield.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • The Bulldogs are off to a 3-1 start for the first time since 2018, having matched their win total from last season, and have won back-to-back games for the first time since the final two games of the 2023 season. Bryant is looking for a third consecutive win on Saturday; this would be the Black and Gold's first three-game winning streak since 2018.
  • The Black and Gold are looking for their second win at Beirne Stadium this season; this would be the first time Bryant has won multiple games at home since 2023
  • The Bulldogs held Princeton to 4 of 13 (30%) on 3rd-down conversions in the victory. In three games against FCS opponents, the Black and Gold are holding teams to 7.6 PPG. Bryant also forced two turnovers against Princeton, for the second time this season.
  • Sean Wilson Jr. had his best game as a Bulldog against the Tigers, recording a career-high 85 yards and six receptions. He had the highlight of the day hauling in a season-best 31-yard reception on 3rd & 19, which set up the Bulldogs for a rushing TD that gave Bryant a 21-14 lead. He leads the team with 15 receptions and 192 yards.
  • OJ Ross and Jordan Bennett both found the end zone against the Tigers. Ross, Bennett, and Kendrick Agenor combined for 140 rushing yards, the third time this year they have tallied 100+ yards collectively. Bennett leads the running back room, averaging 5.4 runs per carry. All three running backs have scored this season, with Ross and Bennett tallying two rushing touchdowns each.
  • In the last two games, Brennan Myer has tallied 356 passing yards, gone 29-of-49 (59%), thrown for two passing touchdowns, and ran it in for two scores as well. He leads the team with three rushing touchdowns this season.
  • Ezra Carter and Omaris McMiller Jr. were dominant versus the Tigers. Carter tied his career-high of six tackles and recorded his first career interception that sealed the victory for Bryant. McMiller Jr. also had an interception, a pass breakup, and recorded his first career tackle for loss.

A bit about the Aggies

  • The Aggies head into Saturday with a 1-4 record and a 1-1 conference record. NC A&T recently earned a win against previously ranked Rhode Island last week.
  • JT Smith and Shimique Blizzard have both recorded 100+ rushing yards in the backfield. Smith leads the way with 230 yards on the ground.
  • Kevin White has thrown for 653 yards and five passing touchdowns this season, while also running in for a score last week against the Rams.
  • Tyreek Brown is top of the team in tackles (32), tackles for loss (3.5), fumble recoveries (2), and also has an interception.
  • Elijah Kennedy leads the CAA in return yards with 294, which also ranks tenth in the nation.
