BULLDOGS IMPROVE TO 2-0 IN AMERICA EAST WITH HOME WIN VS MAINE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Five players reach double-figures as the Bryant University women's basketball team extends its winning streak to five games with an 82-73 victory over Maine on Saturday.
 
Nia Scott posted a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds), Mia Mancini led the Bulldogs with 19 points, Maranda Nyborg recorded 16 points, Izzy Adams had 14 points, and Martina Boba registered 11 points.

How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 13-4 advantage in the first five minutes, which included a 9-0 run, after the game was tied at four. Maranda Nyborg recorded four, including a steal and a score, and Mia Mancini nailed a corner three-pointer.
  • Bryant stayed hot, closing the quarter on a 12-8 run (26-12). Nyborg finished the quarter with 12 points, and the Black and Gold shot 91% from the field.
  • The Black Bears countered with a 9-4 run in the first four minutes of the second quarter (30-21). Martina Boba had all four points for the Bulldogs.
  • Maine continued scoring, tallying 11 for the remainder of the half, shrinking the lead to four (36-32), and Bryant posted six points, Izzy Adams had four points.
