BRYANT MOVES TO 4-0 IN CONFRENCE WITH HOME WIN AGAINST UALBANY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Nia Scott recorded a double-double (18 points, 12 rebounds) and Mia Mancini posted 15 points in the Bryant University women's basketball team's 62-55 home victory against UAlbany on Saturday.
 
The Bulldogs extend their winning streak to seven, and are now 4-0 in America East play.

  • UAlbany began the fourth quarter by hitting a three-pointer to take the lead (43-41), and the Bulldogs responded with an 8-0 and never relinquished the lead for the rest of the fourth quarter.
 
How it Happened
  • It was a defensive battle to start the game, with the Great Danes producing a slight 8-7 edge.
  • The Bulldogs earned a slight 7-6 edge, resulting in a 14-14 tie at the end of the first quarter. Maranda Nyborg and Nia Scott both led the way with four points.
  • The game continued to be a battle, with both teams scoring six. Abbey Lindsey caught fire, scoring all six points, including an and-one jumper off the glass (20-20).
  • Mia Mancini closed the last minute of the first half with five points off a deep three-pointer and a strong layup off the glass. UAlbany tallied four, giving Bryant a one-point advantage at the half (25-24).

  • Scott took over in the fourth quarter, scoring five points and getting an offensive rebound, which led to a Rubino three-pointer (56-48) with 2:35 left in the game.
  • UAlbany would counter with a 4-0 run, shrinking the Bryant lead to four (56-52) with 41 seconds left.
  • Bryant ended the game scoring six, to UAlbanys three, earning the Bulldogs a 62-55 victory.
