SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Senior linebacker Brandon Perkins of the Bryant University football team was named the Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week by the organization on Monday morning after his performance in the 27-26 victory over UMass on Saturday.

Perkins was dominant in the win over FBS opponent UMass. He recorded a career-high 14 tackles while also adding two tackles for loss. His mark of 14 tackles is the 11th most in program history.

In his first two games with the Bulldogs, after transferring from UNH, he has totaled 20 tackles. This was the first double-digit tackle game of Perkins career.

Perkins was also named the CAA Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week earlier today.
