WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS SHORT TO BINGHAMTON

Smithfield, RI. — The Bryant University women's soccer battled hard in a 3-2 defeat over Binghamton Sunday night.

Coach Biggs' Comments:
"I'm very proud of our team.  To comeback to tie the game twice and to win a penalty kick with five minutes left for the chance to tie the game for a third time shows our fight and character," Coach Biggs said.

  "We'll be ready to play again on Thursday."

• 27th minute: Binghamton's Allison Falvo scored off a deflected ball in the box. Bryant 0, Binghamton 1.
• 36th minute: Madison Luke took a free kick just past midfield. Samantha Zaslaw volleyed it out of the air with her left foot. Bryant 1, Binghamton 1.
• 64th minute: After a VAR review, officials awarded Binghamton a handball. Megan Baker converted the penalty. Bryant 1, Binghamton 2.
83rd minute: Whitney Vaillant crossed into the box. Lucia Edelstein connected out of the air and went top shelf for her first career goal. Bryant 2, Binghamton 2.
85th minute: Officials went to VAR again and awarded Binghamton another penalty. Baker converted for her second of the match. Bryant 2, Binghamton 3.
88th minute: A third VAR review gave Bryant a penalty. Luke aimed top right, but Binghamton goalkeeper Rebecca Kessler made the save.

Scoring Summary

• 36th minute: Luke delivered a free kick from 40 yards out. Zaslaw stayed onside and finished with her left foot.
• 83rd minute: Vaillant played a ball into the six. Edelstein was first to it and finished out of the air into the back of the net.
