PHILADELPHIA – La Salle's Marisol las Torreyson's goal with 1:25 left was the difference as the Explorers earned a 2-1 victory over the Bryant field hockey team on Sunday afternoon at Ellen Vagelos Field on the campus of UPenn.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 2-6 on the season. Bryant opens America East play this Friday, October 3, when it hosts UMass Lowell at Cowen Field. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.

- Moments after Bryant tied the game in the fourth quarter, La Salle goalie Abby Boggs made a big stop on a penalty corner. The save setup the Explorers' game winner in the final moments.
First Quarter
- La Salle earned three penalty corners and fired off four shots in taking a 1-0 lead in the first.
- Darian las Deleo took advantage of the final penalty corner, scoring her 2nd goal of the season off the ensuing scrum.
Second Quarter
- The Explorers earned two more corners but could not extend the lead at the half.
Third Quarter
- It was a busy third quarter as the teams combined for five corners. Neither team was able to find the back of the cage, however.
Fourth Quarter
- Bryant was able to tie the game just over a minute into the final quarter. The Bulldogs converted on a penalty corner as Natalie Griffin setup Alexa Sedicino for her first of the season.
- The Black and Gold would then earn three corners in less than a minute but were unable to convert.
- La Salle, however, took advantage of the final corner of the game, with las Torreyson putting home the rebound with 1:25 left.

- La Salle has now won each of the last seven meetings between the two schools.
- The Bulldogs have dropped each of their last six matches.
