SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University Department of Athletics celebrated another exceptional year with an awards banquet that was held in the Stepan Grand Hall inside the George E. Bello Center.
Bryant honored its outstanding student-athletes as Earl Timberlake (basketball) and Conner Lofstrom (swimming & diving) were named Male Athletes of the Year. Aubrey LaPour (volleyball) and Chloe Whiting (swimming & diving) were awarded Female Athlete of the Year honors. Earl Timberlake (basketball) and Landon Ruggieri (football) received the Ronald K. Machtley Career Award, while Caitlyn Munson (tennis) was named the Kati Machtley Career Award winner.
Timberlake put together one of the greatest seasons and careers by a Bulldog in program history. This season, he was named the America East Player of the Year and America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player after leading the Bulldogs to the regular season and tournament title and a trip to March Madness. Timberlake became just the second player in NCAA history to record 15+ ppg, 8+ rpg, 4.5+ apg and 1.5+ bpg, while also becoming the only player in school history to record 1,000+ points, 700+ rebounds, 300+ assists and 100+ blocks in a career.
Lofstrom earned male athlete of the year honors for the second-straight year after leading the Bulldogs to another successful showing at the America East Championships. He helped the 200 and 400 free relay win gold, the 800 free relay set a school record and then broke the school record and earned individual gold in the 100 free.
LaPour was named Second Team All-America East after posting 312 kills on the year. She wraps up her career fifth in DI program history with 952 kills.
Whiting is currently enjoying one of the greatest seasons for a female track athlete in program history. She was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer at both the Indoor and Outdoor America East Championships, claiming gold in the 3,000 and 5,000 indoor and the 5,000 at the outdoor championships.
Ruggieri wrapped up one of the best career for a wide receiver this past fall, leading the country with 15 touchdown receptions. He finishes his career second all-time in cathces (181), receiving yards (2,080), touchdown receptions (25).
Munson wrapped up a great career in the Black and Gold, leading the Bulldogs to an OVC Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. She finished her career with a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and was the NEC Rookie of the Year.

Omar Shareef Spirit Award: Aubrey LaPour, Volleyball
Dr. William T. O'Hara Leadership Award: Drew Lucas, men's lacrosse; Carolina Camacho, volleyball
Strength and Conditioning Award: Charlie Saul (baseball), Jessica Tosone (women's lacrosse)
